Reconciling
Congregation

Brea United Methodist Church is a Reconciling Congregation and a proud member of the Reconciling Ministries Network (RMN). The RMN mobilizes United Methodists of all sexual orientations and gender identities to transform our Church and world into the full expression of Christ’s inclusive love.

As a part of being a Reconciling Congregation, BUMC is a safe place for LGBTQ persons and allies to be in worship and service together. In affirmation of this, Brea United Methodist Church welcomes all people, regardless of age, race, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, physical condition, sexual orientation, ethnic background, or economic situation. We do so keeping in mind our sacred scriptures, the creativity of our universal God, the saving grace of Jesus Christ, and the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit.

Does this mean that BUMC is a “gay church?” No. It means that this is a worship community that works to reflect the beautiful diversity of God’s creation. All persons are welcome. If you’re spiritual or religious, gay or straight or bi, male or female or neither or in-between, Republican or Democrat, rich or poor, young or old, black or white or latin or asian or anything else… all are welcome!
